East coast with the Tuckers

This morning Matthew's parents headed back to Saskatchewan. We had them here for almost 2 whole weeks! It was sad to see them go. We had such a lovely visit and got to see several beautiful places with them. It is so much fun to show family where you live. (Even though we've only been here a year and Matthew only got to be here part-time during that time, we still say we live here!)

They arrived on the evening of August 11 and the next morning we found Janice's sister Gayle and her husband Steve at church. We were shocked! And much to our delight we were able to spend several days with them before they carried on with their travels to Newfoundland. We totally enjoyed getting to know them better while we explored new sites. We have many lovely memories from our time with all four of them and we will treasure them always!

We shared several meals and many of laughs.
At the Halifax waterfront.
Took them on the amphibious vehicle, the Harbour Hopper! It goes on land AND water!
Watching a container ship load.
There was a hot air balloon going up in the commons two days in a row!
Exploring Peggy's Cove.

Look how excited he is to be at this lighthouse! ;)

Why are jump shots so much fun?!

Auntie Gayle - beautiful!

Love this one.

Beautiful sisters!

I just love walking through Peggy's Cove!

Posing in our favourite yellow chair in Mahone Bay!
We HAD to get them to pose too!

The Bluenose reconstruction is almost complete. Looking good!

On a wharf in Lunenburg

Guards on Citadel Hill

A new retirement job?!

Having a chat with ol' John A in Charlottetown - the birthplace of Confederation!

The Dingle in Halifax.

We picked a windy day to climb to the top, my skirt had a mid of its own! ;)

Visited some old churches.

Took a stroll through the Public Gardens.

Beautiful red shores of Prince Edward Island!

Found some treasures to take to school kids!

Love this picture of Daryl!

I totally LOVE hunting for rocks and shell-like treasures! Still haven't found sea glass though:(

Oh, he is just so handsome!

Classic foot picture, on Cavendish beach.

We found the lake of Shining Waters!

Went to the Baptist Church in Cavendish on Sunday morning to hear my beautiful friend's dad preach. Fantastic morning!  (Don't know why this text is large....but I can't seem to change it....)

Stayed a night in Moncton on the way home fro PEI so that we could explore the Hopewell rocks on the Bay of Fundy.

This is 2 hours after high tide, so the water is down a bit but still quite high.

Being oh so handsome again!

We love our toe shots! Bottom of the Bay of Fundy.

This is the next morning about 2 hours after low tide - the water is still WAY down!

Cool shadow on this one; peeking out between two huge rocks towards the water.

Cool bark on our walk down to the rocks.
